I can’t believe it, YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW. You got to stand next to me nine months ago on my wedding day and now it’s my turn to stand next to you. You are going to love being married. There’s absolutely nothing like it.
I will never forget the day I met you. Not many people get to say that they met their best friend at the altar at church. (& I’ll never forget that your nose was bleeding everywhere, haha) You decided that day to commit yourself to the Lord & you haven’t turned back since. I look up to you in so many ways. I honestly can’t think of anyone who is a better person than you. You love people & you really care about them. You put God above everything in your life. You have no idea how bright your light shines. I hope one day I can be half the Christian you are. Besides my husband, you are the only person I can tell everything to without fear of judgement. You love me for who I am. I would not be the person I am today without your help. You are always there to point me back to Jesus.
You are my person & I thank God for you.
People will constantly tell you that marriage is hard work & it can be. But marriage is SO much more than that. It’s waking up everyday to the person God designed just for you. It’s rushing home just to tell them all about your day at work. It’s submitting yourself daily to him. It’s praying together at night before you go to bed. It’s crying on his shoulder when you’ve had a bad day. It’s loving each other unconditionally. It’s sacrificing that extra 30 minutes of sleep so you can make your husband feel loved and wanted. It’s respecting him and supporting him in all that he does. It’s appreciating him for the little things. It’s going to church together every Sunday & Wednesday. It’s trusting them with your secrets. It’s arguing over what to eat. It’s about never going to bed mad at each other. It’s watching him for afar and noticing his cute quirks. It’s knowing that he is always going to be there no matter what.
He is to love you as Christ loves the Church and you are to submit to him.
This covenant can not be broken. It is a gift from God. I know you are already aware that the enemy is going to try to get in between the two of you but that is only because y’all are a threat to him and it just confirms that your marriage is from God…
& what God has joined together, let no one separate.
“Just like how God chooses us; a man chooses a bride, loves her, makes a covenant with her, and gives himself completely to her. The woman responds by receiving his love, surrendering to him, entering into this covenant bond with him, and becoming one flesh with him. Marriage stands for the creation of unity among two people who were once separated in every way before love reached out and found the other- the same way God reached out and found us, and covenanted with us, and loved us, and despite what we’re like, still loves us.” -Priscilla Shirer
“Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” Ruth 1:16
I love you & I can’t wait to share this day with you.
